Japan Rolled Aluminium Capacity Utilization Drops in November

Japanese rolled aluminium makers’ capacity utilization was 91.7% in November 2007, down by 5.3 percentage points from a year earlier, according to Japan Aluminium Association. The utilization dropped down for extrusions due to the stagnant demand for building constructions under the new Japanese building standard law. The utilization maintained relatively high for flat products.The capacity utilization downed by 1.3 points to 95.9% for flat aluminium products in November from a year earlier. The demand was slow for electric machines and wholesalers. The utilization dropped down by 10.4 points to 86.5% for extrusions in November from a year ago, which seemed to keep the low level in near future.
