Siam Nippon Steel Pipe to Improve Supply Ability for Auto Industry

Nippon Steel group’s Siam Nippon Steel Pipe improves the operation sharing with the Indonesian subsidiary, which started operation in 2007, to meet growing demand for automobile and motorcycle in Southeast Asia and India. The plant in Thailand operates at full capacity while the Indonesian plant pumps up the production to meet the strong demand. The Thai plant produces monthly 4,000 tonnes of high precision mechanical steel tube for automobile and motorcycle. The firm renewed the record cutting processing volume at 6 million units per month in December. The finishing lines also are in full capacity operations at monthly 10 million units per month. The firm launched the Indonesian plant, Indonesia Nippon Steel Pipe starting the commercial operation in January 2007. The plant targets monthly 1,200 tonnes of output in the year compared with planned 1,000 tonnes in February and 870 tonnes output in January.
