Mitsubishi Aluminum to Hike Daily Goods in March

Mitsubishi Aluminum announced on Tuesday the firm raises the selling price for daily goods including both aluminium rolled products and non-aluminium products by 8-12% (average 10%) effective for shipment in March 2008.The firm decided the price hike of daily goods to reflect higher costs for materials such as aluminium, plastic and paper, sub materials such as product packages and distributions. The firm could not absorb these costs up despite of its efforts for better productivity and item reorganization.Mitsubishi Aluminum has announced another price hike for aluminium foil applied to electrolytic capacitors by more than 30 yen per kilogram and ordinal aluminium foil by 50-70 yen per kg effective for March shipment. The firm explained the hike is necessary to keep stable product supply. As to daily goods, Mitsubishi Aluminum and its subsidiary, MA Foil concluded alliance with Nippon Foil Mfg to improve cost competitiveness of the business.
