Hisaka Works to Expand Plate Heat Exchanger Output by F2010

Hisaka Works, Osaka based maker of plate heat exchanger (PHE) and the largest user of rolled titanium products in Japan, announced a new 3-year management plan starting April 2008 which plans capital expenditure at maximum 4 billion yen to expand PHE production capacity and commercialize ultra-large PHE. The firm aims to keep operating profit ratio to sales at above 15% through fiscal 2008-2010. In fiscal 2010, the firm targets sales at 35 billion yen, up by 25% from fiscal 2007, and operating profit at 6.1 billion yen, up by 44%.Hisaka Works plans reorganization of automatic welding lines for welded PHE and facility expansion specialized for large-size blazed plate heat exchanger (BHE) such as continuous electric vacuum furnaces and servo press machines. The firm also advances development of new products including welded PHE, super-high-efficiency PHE for buildings and district cooling and ultra-large PHE with the world top capacity. The firm explained large-size BHE is only before demonstration for industrial usages.Hisaka Works recently received a 3-year 30-billion-yen offer for district cooling PHE used in Dubai. The firm is cautious to conclude the long-term contract because of high risk for material cost up. The firm aims to start commercial PHE supply after completion of super-high-efficient PHE development.
