Japan Secondary Al Output and Shipment Keep Strong in January

Japanese secondary aluminum production was 89,016 tonnes and the shipment was 89,087 tonnes in January, announced by Japan Aluminium Alloy Refiners Association on Monday. Production increased by 0.02% from a year earlier and represented year-to-year increase for 20 months in a row while shipment increased by 0.7% from a year earlier and represented year-to-year increase for 32 straight months. Both production and shipment hit the records as January. Secondary aluminium alloy makers seemed to keep full operations to meet strong demand from automobile industry.Secondary aluminium alloy shipment increased by 1.4% to 48,879 tonnes in January from a year ago, which showed year-to-year increase for 32 months in a row. Demand maintained strong when domestic production of exporting vehicles and auto parts. On the other hand, secondary aluminium alloy shipment decreased by 0.8% to 23,466 tonnes with slow demand from construction market.
