JFE Steel to Supply 52,000 tonnes X80 Grade Line Pipe for Trans Canada

JFE Steel announced on Monday the firm got 52,000 tonnes order of UEO line pipe with X80 American Petroleum Institute grade for North Central Corridor project led by Canadian largest gas transporter, Trans Canada. The firm started the production and suppliers through 2009 via Metal One Corporation. The project is to connect around 3,000 kilometers from Meikle River compressor to Woodenhouse compressor. JFE Steel suppliers half of the total around 100,000 tonnes of line pipe requirement. JFE Steel started commercial production of X80 grade line pipe in 1989 for the first time in the world. The firm supplied 120,000 tonnes of the pipe for world buyers including Trans Canada. JFE Steel also supplies X100 grade pipe for Trans Canada. JFE Steel tries to get X80 grade line pipe order for another major pipeline projects in North America.
