H-Beam and Small Bar Market Prices Keeps Rising around Tokyo

Steel products market price for building material is hitting new highs around Tokyo. H- beam price reached at 10,2000-103,000 yen per tonne for base size, which more increasing to near 110,000 yen. Concrete reinforcing steel bar price is increasing to near 90,000 yen per tonne. Large and small dealers are raising selling price when steel makers are increasing selling price. Small dealer source said the price is a situation without precedent in history. Dealers are continuing price hike of H-beam when Japanese integrated steel makers are likely to additionally raise selling price and some raised selling price to around 105,000 yen per tonne.Concrete reinforcing steel bar market price increased to 85,000 yen per tonne delivered from maker and small dealer in last week. The price increased by 3,000 yen delivered from small dealers though small dealers’ price hike got delayed. Each steel bar maker announced to raise selling price to over 90,000 yen per tonne for the contract in March. Dealer source said to raise selling price to 90,000 yen in the middle of March and to 95,000 yen in the beginning of April.The market prices for building material had grown stagnate due to slow demand, but the price is increasing thanks to material inflation.
