Ferrous scrap market price is firm at around 44,500 yen per tonne for H2, 47,800 yen for H1 and around 49,800 yen for HS at dealers’ purchase price including freight around Tokyo. The price is likely to keep firm with strong export market. Japanese scrap export price hit record FAS 52,250 yen per tonne from Tokyo bay for H2 at export tender held by Kanto Tetsugen, which was 6,700 yen higher than previous tender. The price is around 1,000 yen higher than purchase price by local electric furnace steel makers. The makers are likely to increase the purchase price more. Ferrous scrap market price is firm at around 42,000 yen per tonne for H2 grade around Osaka.
