Higher H-Beam and Rebar Price in Tokyo

Market price of H-beam and concrete reinforcing steel bar continues to increase around Tokyo. The price increased by 3,000 yen to 105,000 yen per tonne for H-beam at stock sales of distributors and to 88,000 yen at direct sales from makers to buyers. The price is likely to increase more toward 110,000 yen for H-beam and 90,000 yen for rebar. H-beam dealers started to increase the offer after Nippon Steel announced the 10,000 yen per tonne hike on Tuesday. The market price could renew the record high when some dealers offer 110,000 yen. The dealers try to secure profit at higher cost price when the makers reduce the supply. Tokyo Steel Manufacturing announces selling price to distributors for April order. The dealers expect 5,000-10,000 yen per tonne of hike by Tokyo Steel when the firm offers around 110,000 yen for spot sales. Rebar makers announce more than 90,000 yen per tonne of selling price. The dealers try to pass higher cost price by raising the reselling price. The dealers try to realize 90,000 yen level in the month and more than 92,000 yen for April.
