JFE Shoji Trade to Expand Steel Processing in Vietnam

JFE Shoji Trade Corporation will increase the processing volume to monthly 2,500 tonnes per month at JFE Shoji Steel Vietnam in second half of the year ending December 2008, which is 1,000 tonnes higher than current level. The firm starts stainless steel processing in the month by utilizing the precision processing capacity for thinner products. The firm will decide to add a large slitter as early as annualized 2,500 tonnes operation level. The firm increases the output to serve local transplants of Japanese makers when they expand the capacity in Ho Chi Minh. The firm increases the supply of high valued steel items including products with 0.3 millimeters thick or less. JFE Shoji launched the center in Amata Industrial Park, Bien Hoa City in July 2006 to serve local users starting operation in May 2007. The center with monthly 5,000 tonnes of processing capacity has a large slitter, a small slitter and a small shearing machine. The firm provides 1,500 tonnes of electrical steel, cold rolled flat steel and coated steel.
