Japan Steel Export Rises by 22.4% in February

Japanese steel export increased by 22.4% to 3.507 million tonnes in February from a year earlier, announced Ministry of Finance on Wednesday. The export value increased by 10.9% to 356.516 billion yen. Steel import was 515,921 tonnes in volume, don by 21.4% year-on-year, and 65.697 billion yen in value, down by 6.4%. Steel export increased in February stimulated by Asian countries both in volume and value. The import decreased from EU and Asian countries.The export decreased by 17.2% to USA and by 2.1% to EU in February from a year earlier while increased by 28.9% to Asian countries. The export increased by 14.6% to China, by 34.7% to Asian New Industrializing Economies and by 39.5% to Association of Southeast Asian Nations. The export increased by 72.1% to Russia and by 24.8% to Middle East. The export value increased by 4.2% to EU and by 17.9% to Asia. The export increased by 16.3% to China, While the value decreased by 8.9% to USA. The value increased by 62.2% to Russia.The import volume increased by 42.7% from USA in February from a year earlier while decreased by 23.0% from EU and by 22.8% from Asia. The import decreased by 55.9% from China. The import value decreased by 0.8% from USA , by 8.8% from EU and by 16.3% from Asian countries. The import value decreased by 25.8% from China. The import increased by 55.7% from Russia.
