Japan Official Indium Price Increases to 65,000-70,000 Yen/t

Dowa Electronics Materials, a group company of Dowa Holdings, announced on Tuesday the firm raised the official indium ingot price (99.99% purity which can applied to indium-tin-oxide) by 10,000 yen to 65,000 yen per kilogram for large-lot shipment and to 70,000 yen per kg for small-lot shipment for domestic shipment in April. The firm reflected the upsurge of international indium price on the domestic price.Indium price in European market maintained flat at US$ 420-460 per kg on 14 April, according to Reuters. On the other hand, Metal Bulletin’s researching price, an international indicator, exceeded US$ 500 per kg even at the cheapest. Market price is following the upsurge of Metal Bulletin’s indicator.Major indium consumers are Japanese sputtering target material makers. The sputtering target material makers are expected to restart material procurement entering a new fiscal year in April. There seems speculative purchasing by European traders as well.
