Japan Aluminium Alloy Makers Adjust Shipment for Automakers

Secondary alloyed aluminium makers reduce the output by 5-7% to automakers’ plants around Tokyo when the automakers reduce the activity due to slower export of knockdown sets including engine and transmission parts to USA. The alloyed aluminium makers try to keep increasing the output level when the automakers keep high level activity to meet growing demand in China and developing countries. A trading firm source said some Japanese automakers reduce the materials purchase volume decreases since January. The automakers reduce the export to USA when subprime loan shock cools the economy and automobile sales. Japanese major alloyed aluminium makers reduce the output by 5-7% to some automakers. An alloyed aluminium maker said the firm will reduce the output in April-June as January-March. However, the maker keeps high level alloy output with strong demand for automobile in Asia and Europe. Automakers plan to increase the finished car export will increase by more than 10% in April-June from same period of 2007.
