Dowa Electronics Market PChem’s Nano Silver Ink Exclusively in Asia

Dowa Holdings announced on Tuesday Dowa Electronics Materials got exclusive sales agency in Japan and Asia market for low temperature Nano Silver ink products developed by PChem Associates of USA. Dowa Electronics tries to market the products for radio frequency identification tag and electronic ticket applications. The firm also negotiates with PChem Associates for potential technology tie-up. Conductive ink is used for next generation wiring by applying printing technology. PChem Associates’ ink can make circuit with high conductive property and better adhesion through only less than 1 minute heating with as low as 120-150 degree of centigrade. Dowa Electronics, which develops silver powder for conductive ink at subsidiary in Okayama, tries to expand the partnership with PChem Associates to technology tie-up for conductive ink. Dowa Electronics makes spherical silver powder for electrode of plasma display at plant in Honjou, Saitama. The products has more than 10 micrometers of diameter but silver powder for conductive ink is as fine as around a hundredth of diameter of products in Honjou plant. Dowa Electronics adjusts the conductive ink at Honjou or Okayama plant depending on the users’ request. Conductive ink enables circuit on papers and polyethylene terephthalate along with the better cost performance. The ink is already used for radio frequency identification tag and electronic ticket in USA. The applications are expected to expand to electromagnetic interference shielding film and large solar panel.
