Nippon Mining & Metals Expands Used Materials Recycling

Nippon Mining & Metals expands the recycling raw materials treatment capacity for used electronic devises and parts. The firm expanded the treatment capacity to 2.4 times by adding an incinerator at the subsidiary, Nikko Tsuruga Recycle in Fukui for 400 million yen. The firm also started the used materials treatment at another subsidiary, Nikko Mikkaichi Recycle in Toyama. The firm added small kiln with monthly 500 tonnes of treatment capacity at Tsuruga starting the test operation in mid-May at around 70% of utilization. The plant usually treated used materials including cell phone, storage battery and connector at 350-360 tonnes per month at the existing incinerator. The firm converted idled facility into drier at Mikkaichi plant starting the treatment of slag of gold and silver. The firm also studies introducing small incinerator at the plant. The firm also treats monthly 150 tonnes of used personal computer and office equipments at the subsidiary, Tomakomai Chemical Corporation in Hokkaido. The firm inputs the treated materials into furnaces at Saganoseki Smelter & Refinery in Oita and Nikko Environmental Service in Ibaraki to extract valuable metals.
