Toyota Tsusho Opens New Melted Al Plant in Hokkaido, Japan

Toyota Tsusho Corporation, a trading house of Toyota Motor Group, announced on 23 April the firm established a melted aluminium plant in Tomakomai City of Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan, in cooperation with Hoei Shokai, Aichi based maker of melted aluminium. The new plant will start operation in December 2008 and supply melted aluminium alloy at about 12,000 tonnes per year to Toyota Motor Hokkaido, a manufacturing site of Toyota Motor. The capital expenditure for the new plant totals to approximately 1.3 billion yen.The new plant has floors at 2,730 square meters on the site at 20,000 square meters, located at 1 kilometer far from Toyota Motor Hokkaido. The main facilities are 3 melting furnaces and a dust collector. The operation will start with 17 employees in December 2008 at initial supply volume at 1,000 tonnes per month to Toyota Motor Hokkaido. The capital is 402.5 million yen, 90% shared by Toyota Tsusho and 10% by Hoei Shokai.Toyota Tsusho will become to operate 4 plants of melted aluminium alloy in Japan, including the new plant in Hokkaido. The total supply volume will increase to 40,000 tonnes per year.
