Furukawa-Sky Aluminum to Sell 483,000t Al Product in F2008

Furukawa-Sky Aluminum Corporation plans to increase its sales of aluminium rolled products by 9.3% year-on-year to 483,000 tonnes through fiscal 2008 started April. The firm especially aims to increase the export by 44.1% to 85,000 tonnes in F2008. The firm will reinforce the supply capacity of rolled aluminium products such for cans, printing plates and automobiles when Japanese customers are increasing overseas productions.Furukawa-Sky plans the annual sales of can materials at 122,000 tonnes for F2008, almost as flat as F2007, while foil materials at 44,000 tonnes, increasing by 15.8% year-on-year. The plate sales are expected to decrease by 38.9% to 11,000 tonnes for LNG carriers while increase by 16.7% to 35,000 tonnes for the other demands, such for liquid-crystal-panel manufacturing equipment.The sales of aluminium extrusions is estimated to increase by 2.2% to 46,000 tonnes while casting and forging products increase by 50% to 3,000 tonnes. The firm is in full production of compressor wheels applied to automotive turbo chargers.As to a new application, the firm recently receives active orders for aluminium panels used to solar-power-generating-panel manufacturing equipment. The firm aims to expand the output capacity for the application.
