Furukawa-Sky to Expand Al Output for Auto Heat Exchanger in China

Furukawa-Sky Aluminum Corporation announced on Tuesday the firm expands the output capacity of aluminium extrusions for automotive heat exchangers by 2.5 times at Furukawa-Sky Aluminum (Tianjin), the total subsidiary in China. The firm will introduce a 2,750-tonne extruding machine and related facilities to start the operation in March 2009. The capital expenditure is about US$ 6 million. The firm expects the automobile sales in China would exceed 10 million units in 2008 from 8.88 million units in 2007.Furukawa-Sky Aluminum (Tianjin) will become to operate two 2,750t extruding machines and the monthly production will increase by 2.5 times to 450 tonnes from current 180 tonnes. Furukawa-Sky established Tianjin plant in April 2005 and started operation in April 2007.
