Furukawa-Sky to Hike Aluminium Rolling Charge by 10% for July

Furukawa-Sky Aluminum announced on Thursday the firm increases the selling price of commodity grade aluminium products. The firm increases the rolling margin by averaged 10% or around 30 yen per kilogram for July shipment. The firm already got higher price from contract users through negotiation since the beginning of the year. However, the firm is suffered from higher cost for oil and raw materials including magnesium when the cost keeps increasing with much wider than the level to deal with the own effort. The firm decided the hike for commodity grade products to cover part of the higher cost. The firm tries to improve the profitability for stable supply and better development of products and technology. Sumitomo Light Metal Industries announced 10-20% higher rolling charge for all aluminium rolled products for April shipment. Showa Denko increased the rolling charge by 10-15% for aluminium flat and extrusion products for June shipment. Nippon Light Metal and Nikkeikin Aluminium Core Technology increase the charge by 10-15% for flat, extrusion and processed products for June order.
