Dowa Metanix to Expand Output by 40% in F2010

Dowa Metaltech group’s rolled copper maker, Dowa Metanix expends around 2 billion yen for new pickling line and facility renewal in fiscal 2008 started April. The firm expands the monthly output capacity by 40% to 1,200 tonnes in fiscal 2010. The firm tries to improve the productivity to expand the supply for connector pin and semiconductor lead frame. The firm starts operation of pickling line in early fiscal 2009. The firm improves the cost competitiveness for thin products line through the additional line and renewed facilities. The firm tries to increase the sales for connector pin and relay switch along with the main application of lead frame. Dowa Metaltech acquired Yamaha Metanix, which was rolled copper making subsidiary of Yamaha Corporation, in March 2007. Dowa Metalteck renamed Yamaha Metanix into Dowa Metanix in December 2007. Dowa Metanix’s sales were 17.9 billion yen in the year ended March 2008. The firm produces copper and nickel alloy products and ships 70% of the products for lead frame, in which products with 0.15 millimeters or less thick represent 60%.
