Nippon Mining & Metals to Hike Some Rolled Copper Price by 15-30 yen/kg

Nippon Mining & Metals tries to improve the price level of some rolled copper products including brass and phosphor bronze. The firm tries to cover higher cost for loss materials through price hike while the firm started to study for potential higher rolling margin. The firm could offer 15-30 yen per kilogram higher price to users as early as June. The firm includes 3% materials loss for brass products selling price. However, some users reject the additional cost coverage. The firm tries to add such cost on the selling price of some products for better profitability when the cost increases due to surging price of copper and zinc recently. The firm tries to improve the rolling margin mainly for phosphor bronze when the cost increases with higher cost for subsidiary materials and freight. The firm expects the users understand such high cost situation when the crude oil market continues to increase.
