Mitsubishi Aluminum Plans 6% Higher Rolled Output

Mitsubishi Aluminum plans to increase the rolled products output by 6.0% to 186,000 tonnes for the year ending March 2009 from previous year. The firm expects the higher demand for automobile and machinery. The firm plans to increase the output by 7.4% to 134,000 tonnes for flat products and by 6.7% to 31,000 tonnes for extrusion in the year ending March 2009 from previous year while the foil output decreases by 3.3% to 21,000 tonnes. The total output increases despite of slower demand for transport machinery except for automobile when the other demand increases.The sales volume decreased by 1.7% to 175,544 tonnes in the year ended March 2008 from previous year. The output deceased by 1.3% to 124,751 tonnes for flat, by 4.0% to 29,067 tonnes for extrusion and by 0.9% to 21,726 tonnes for foil. The flat sales decreased for printing applications and export. The extrusion sales dropped for truck. The foil sales decreased for packaging and condenser despite of firm demand for industrial materials.
