EXSYM to Enhance Ultra High Voltage Cable Export by F2010

EXSYM Corporation, a joint venture to produce high voltage and ultra high voltage power cables shared by SWCC Showa Holdings and Mitsubishi Cable Industries, aims the export expansion of ultra high voltage cables for the Middle East and Southeast Asia during 3 years by fiscal 2010 ending March 2011. The firm estimates the annual revenue at 43 billion yen, the operating profit at 1.5 billion yen and the recurring profit at 1.2 billion yen in fiscal 2010.EXSYM posted the annual revenue at 40.6 billion yen, the operating profit at 1.7 billion yen and the recurring profit at 400 million yen in fiscal 2007. The export of ultra high voltage power cables for Middle East and Southeast Asia accounted for about 40% in the total revenue. The firm holds order backlogs of 27 billion yen, more than 20 billion yen of which is for the export.The firm has prepared for the capacity expansion for ultra high voltage cables at Aichi plant, Aichi Prefecture, Japan. The firm transferred a horizontal sheathing line from Kumagaya plant, Saitama Prefecture, Japan to Aichi plant. Aichi plant now has 3 sheathing lines for ultra high voltage cables. The transferred line will start commercial operation in August 2008. EXSYM also plans to renew one of 2 conductor stranding lines in Aichi plant. The new line will start commercial operation in November 2008.The output capacity of Aichi plant will increase to about 1,200 tonnes of copper per month from current 1,000 tonnes per month thanks to these new facilities.
