Nippon Light Metal to Expand Offshore Sales

Nippon Light Metal targets 70 billion yen of offshore sales for the year ending March 2010 compared with 65 billion yen in the year to March 2008. The firm tries to expand the offshore business when the Chinese second plant of aluminium extrusion processing starts operation in September. The firm tries to follow the growing offshore demand through expansion and marketing of high valued products for the next growth.The group company of Nikkeikin Aluminium Core Technology established second Chinese plant for sunroof rail in Shanghai to expand the sales volume to more than 4 million units per year including bumper at Shenzhen plant. The group company, Toyo Aluminium builds new back sheet for solar battery in Guangdong to start operation of 4 lines from May 2009 to August 2010. The firm invests 2.5 billion yen for including domestic expansion. The group company, Nikkei Siam Aluminium in Thailand converts cold rolling line for higher precision and rolling speed for 1.3 billion yen by November 2008. The firm also adds 100 million yen slitter for finishing operation.
