Showa Denko Packaging Advances Automation in Hikone, Japan

Showa Denko Packaging, Showa Denko’s subsidiary headed in Kanagawa, Japan, will totally automate the inspection and packaging lines in Hikone plant, Shiga, Japan within 2008. The firm aims higher productivity by the automation.Showa Denko Packaging has tried to improve product quality and cost competitiveness. The automation in Hikone plant is one of these activities. The firm will establish a stable operation and quality traceability system by the mechanization.Showa Denko Packaging was established in 2001 by the integration of Showa Denko’s fabricated foil business unit and Heisei Polymer’s laminate business unit into Showa Laminating Industry Corporation. The annual revenue is approximately 10 billion yen to produce and sell the products composed with aluminium foil and synthetic resin.
