Japan Shutter Makers Hike Shutter, Door Price

Japanese shutter makers try to realize higher selling price for shutter and door products in the month. The largest maker of Sanwa Shutter Corporation increased the selling price for order April 1 while Bunka Shutter also increased the price. They try to pass higher cost for steel, aluminium and stainless steel. Sanwa Shutter increased the selling price by 1,500-2,500 yen per square meter for light shutter, by around 2,500 for heavy shutter and by around 1,500 yen for overhead sliders. The firm also increased the price by around 12,000 yen per set for door of medical and welfare facilities, by 6,000-7,000 yen for steel heavy door and by around 6,000 yen for steel light door. Bunka Shutter increased the price by 10-15% for shutter products, by 10-15% for partition board and by 5-10% for exterior. Toyo Shutter revised the sales and profit target downward for the mid-term business plan ending the year due to higher raw materials cost. The firm tries to increase the price level for better profitability. Major shutter makers are suffered from higher raw materials cost. They try to reduce the cost through companywide effort. However, they cannot cover the extremely higher cost only by own effort under very slow building market.
