Indium Market Rebounds with Appetite by Japanese Buyers

International indium market rebounds when sputtering target material makers are expected to secure the material. The indium price increased by around 20% in a month with speculative purchase by traders after the price halved in 2 years. Japanese trader source said the market increases to US$ 500 per kilogram and the buyers cannot find offer with less than US$ 500. The higher price is apparently due to Japanese buyers move. They try to secure the materials for new fiscal year starting April though they tried to reduce the overstock before.International indium market price halved in 2 years from US$ 1,000 per kg in February-March 2006. However, the price is expected to increase when the buyers try to secure the materials at lower price. The buyers tended to purchase small portion of indium spot basis during the inventory adjustment. The buyers are still in position for inventory adjustment and are apparently reluctant to commit long term purchase.
