JFE Shoji Trade Launches Ferrous Scrap Yards in Osaka, Nagoya

JFE Steel’s trading company, JFE Shoji Trade Corporation launched scrap yards in Osaka and Nagoya to secure ferrous scrap for JFE Steel and the group’s electric furnace steel makers. JFE Shoji Trade plans to launch new yard in Chiba and to introduce ferrous scrap transport vessel. The firm tries to increase the scrap trading volume by 500,000 tonnes to around 2.9 million tonnes in fiscal 2008 from fiscal 2007. The firm started operation of yard located in Senboku port in Izumiotsu, Osaka in February. The yard without processing machine can keep around 2,000 tonnes of ferrous scrap and deals monthly 1,000-2,000 tonnes of scrap. The firm started operation of yard located in Nagoya port in Minato-ku, Nagoya in March. The yard without processing machine can keep around 2,000 tonnes of scrap and deals monthly 1,000-1,500 tonnes. The firm has scrap yards in Chiba, Okayama and Aichi other than the new yards. The firm plans to launch another yard in Chiba. The firm tries to improve the transport efficiency with potential scrap transport vessel. The firm tries to secure the scrap materials through existing partners of scrap dealers and potential new partners.
