JFE Steel Offers US$ 200-300 13% Cr Seamless Hike for US Buyers

JFE Steel started export price negotiation with US oil companies and steel pipe dealers offering US$ 200-300 per tonne hike for 13% chrome steel seamless pipe for January-March 2009 shipment compared with October-December. The firm tries to higher price for the high grade products when carbon steel seamless price keeps high in USA.

The firm realized higher price for 13% chrome seamless export pipe to US buyers in the year to cover higher cost for iron ore and raw materials getting US$ 200 per tonne higher price for April-June 2008 compared with October 2007-March 2008 level and US$ 400 hike for July-September from April-June.

Oil well pipe price surged in USA after US makers hiked the price widely in and after July under tight supply. JFE Steel got US$ 300 per tonne hike for October-December from July-September in the boom for carbon grade products market. JFE Steel decided the another hike for the higher grade products even under slower economy.
