Sumitomo Metal Industries’ subsidiary, Sumikin Steel & Shapes, which is an electric furnace steel maker based in Wakayama, announced on Thursday the firm keeps H-beam selling price for November shipment. The firm cuts production and sales volume for distributors by around 55% from October to adjust supply to demand.
JFE Steel also noticed on Thursday to the distributors to cut the H-beam supply by around 20% for October order or November production. The supply cut represents around 30% from September production after the firm cut the supply by around 20% for October production from August. The firm keeps the price unchanged for 2 months in a row. The dealer’s H-beam shipment is stagnant for construction market is worsening.
