Carbon steel wire price is flat at around 148,000 yen per tonne for products with 4 millimeters diameter and 140,000 yen for commodity grade products around Tokyo. Dealers can’t pass higher purchase price on the reselling price due to slow demand. Users are requesting the price cut to dealers due to users’ slow sales or reduced wire rod price by Tokyo Steel Manufacturing, Japanese major wire rod maker. Some dealers forecast dealers can’t penetrate the price hike until the last half of November.Dealers’ sales volume is decreasing for steel wire products over the last year despite of demand season in autumn. A source of steel wire product maker said users reduce the purchase volume of steel wire products when users’ selling volume is decreasing while users’ inventory volume is increasing. Steel wire product makers are raising the selling price by 15,000 yen per tonne due to rising wire rod price hike. They are explaining the price hike of wire rod to users, but their price negotiation is facing hard going.
