Senju Metal Industry to Expand China Solder Operations

Tokyo based major solder maker, Senju Metal Industry expands Chinese operation. The firm expands the integrated operation output capacity from solder alloy to finished products at Huizhou and Beijing in 3 years. The firm also improves the optimization of the production in Chinese operations including paste operations in Shanghai and Hong Kong.

The Huizhou plant, which started operation in 2001, can make all solder items. The president Eietsu Hasegawa said the firm eyes expansion for Huizhou plant to the level as Tochigi plant while the total output capacity of Huizhou plant and Hong Kong plant is a half of Tochigi.

The Beijing plant moved the site in 2007 to expand the capacity. The plant building is double of former site and now the plant operates by using half of the new building. The full capacity operation represents around half of Huizhou plant.

The firm produces monthly 250 tonnes of solder products in China, which represents around 30% of more than 800 tonnes of the production in Japan. The firm’s main plant is in Tochigi with research and development function while the firm has operations in Asia, North America and Europe.
