Japan Electronic Materials Output Rises by 10% in August, JEITA

Japanese electronic materials output increased by 10% to 38.95 billion yen in August from a year earlier, according to Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA). The output increased by 8% for permanent magnet while the value decreased to less than 10 billion yen for the first time in 3 months.

The rare earth output increased by 11% in August from a year earlier while the value decreased to less than 8 billion yen for the first time in 6 months. The demand slows down due to lower activity in automobile and appliances industries.
