NSSC Skips Order Acceptance of Ni Stainless Cold Sheet

Nippon Steel & Sumikin Stainless Steel (NSSC) announced on Monday the firm continues skipping order acceptance of nickel series cold rolled stainless flat steel from domestic dealers for November orders. The firm skips the order acceptance for 4 consecutive months.

The firm reduces the selling price of stainless steel plate by 45,000 yen for November orders. The selling price of cold rolled cut edge coil for dealers becomes 400,000 yen per tonne with less than 2.0 millimeters thickness and 410,000 yen with more than 2.0 mm thickness. Averaged nickel price decreased by US$ 1.54 to US$ 6.79 per pound for September-October. Chrome price also decreased and yen exchange rate rose against other currencies. NSSC’s Hikari works halves crude steel output compared with the capacity to adjust the supply and demand.

The firm decreased the selling price of chrome series cold rolled stainless steel sheet by 8,000 yen to 317,000 yen per tonne for domestic dealers for November contracts when ferrochrome price downed by 9.4% to US$ 1.93 per pound for October-December. The firm decreased chrome series product price for the first time since January, when the firm introduced alloy price link system.

The firm changed the extra charge with steel grade for dealers for November orders, reducing by 30,000 yen for SUS316 and by 40,000 yen for SUS316L when nickel and molybdenum prices are dropping.
