Secondary Al Alloy Selling Price Downs to 265-275 Yen/kg, Osaka

Secondary aluminium alloy makers and alloy users, mainly die casting makers, almost agreed to decrease the secondary aluminium alloy ingot price for November shipment by 20-35 yen per kilogram, averagely by 23-24 yen per kg, from the previous month around Osaka. Alloy makers’ selling price downed to 265-275 yen per kg for AD12.1 grade of small-lot shipment for the end users. Continuous price down is expected for December shipment.

Automakers, the largest consumers of secondary aluminium alloy, continue output reductions. Demand for secondary aluminium alloy is dropping down month by month. Meanwhile, primary aluminium at London Metal Exchange, the market indicator, plunged down after September. To follow LME aluminium, offer price for secondary aluminium alloy imported from China and Korea became below US$ 2,000 per tonne. The current lowest offer price is around US$ 1,500 (140-150 yen/kg).
