Japan Rolled Al Capacity Utilization Downs in October

Japanese rolled aluminium makers’ capacity utilization was 91.5% in October, down by 3.3 percentage points from a year earlier, according to Japan Aluminium Association. The utilization ratio turned to the year-on-year down again since August of this year. Re-rollers’ operations were low for extrusions and flat products.

The capacity utilization worsened by 1.6 percentage points for flat aluminium products in October from a year ago. The operations slowed down for can materials, printing boards and exports.

The utilization maintained the low level for aluminium extrusions, lowered by 5.5 percentage points in October from a year ago. The demand was stagnant from constructions, especially for aluminium sashes.
