Japanese ferrous scrap export increased by 38.6% to 484,000 tonnes in December from November, which increased for 2 consecutive months, according to Japan Ferrous Raw Materials Association. Chinese and Taiwanese importers aggressively purchased cheaper Japanese ferrous scrap. The export decreased by 48.9% to 25,000 tonnes to South Korea in December over the previous month, while increased by 53.6% to 418,000 tonnes to China and by 125% to 18,000 tonnes to Taiwan.
