Higher Ch Series Stainless Cold Flat Steel in Tokyo

Chrome series stainless cold rolled flat steel market price increased by 20,000 yen to around 270,000 yen per tonne for SUS430 base size around Tokyo. The dealers realized the higher price after they tried to pass makers’ hikes linked with higher chrome cost. The price is likely to keep firm with pressure by chrome cost. Chrome series stainless flat market price keeps increasing since the beginning of the year. The dealers’ shipment is also firm when the buyers shift from high priced nickel series products. The chrome series cold rolled flat steel shipment by processors hit record 27,167 tonnes in April and high level of 26,652 tonnes in May, according to the processors’ association. Nippon Steel & Sumikin Stainless Steel (NSSC) increased the chrome series cold rolled flat steel price by total 65,000 yen per tonne for distributors from February to June order. JFE Steel also increased the price by total 70,000 yen from February to April order.
