Mitsui Mining and Smelting Establishes the Base for Production and Distribution of Automobile Catalysts in India
Mitsui Mining and Smelting Co., Ltd. announced on April 27 2005 that it would establish the base for production and distribution of automobile catalysts in India in June 2005. The capital for the investment is about 500 million yen, and the firm will found its wholly-owned subsidiary in the country this June. The subsidiary is starting the production for real in October 2006. Mitsui Mining and Smelting will promote capital investment for the production by about 500 million yen and make the productivity at 4 million units per year by fiscal 2007, the year that ends in March 2008. The firm estimates the quantity sold as about 3 million units in the fiscal year, and the firm will sell the products to 4 million units by fiscal 2010.
