Sumitomo Metal Mining Starts Commercial Production in the Coral Bay Nickel Project
Sumitomo Metal Mining announced on April 13 2005 that the firm started commercial production in the Coral Bay Nickel Project, the business of nickel smelting in the Philippines. In 2005, the firm will produce nickel/cobalt mixed sulfides, nickel smelting intermediary products at 700 tonnes as amount of nickel. From 2006, it will supply the products at 10,000 tonnes as amount of nickel and 700 tonnes as amount of cobalt for nickel smelting of the firm.
