Mitsui Mining and Smelting to increase functional materials business
Mitsui Mining and Smelting will strengthen functional materials business mainly ITO target material and optical single crystal. Though the firm has monthly 22 tonnes output capacity for ITO, it plans to increase the equipment in response to movement of demand. And it will increase to 30 tonnes capacity in 2005. Optical single crystal expands calcium fluoride single crystal as lens material for next generation photolithography machine of semiconductor manufacturing system.
