The Superconducting Motor Was Developed
The group composed of seven companies and one university including Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries announced on Thursday that they developed the superconducting motor at the practical use level using the bismuth system high temperature superconducting wire and the liquid nitrogen for the first time in the world. In non-iron makers, Sumitomo Electric Industries participated in the group and it took charge of manufacturing the bismuth system superconducting wire and the coil. The propulsion unit that shaped pod in it has come to completion and the prospect of practical use looks up from it in the output 500 kilowatts.
