Showa Denko and Peccell Technologies Cooperated to Develop and to Produce of Titanium Oxide Paste for Electrode
Showa Denko and Peccell Technologies cooperated to develop and to produce of titanium oxide paste for electrode that are the key parts of film dye solar battery cell (DSC) on Wednesday. Peccell used the titanium of Showa Denko recently and it succeeded in the development of high power DSC of four volts or more. In addition, Peccell deepens of the relation to Showa Denko by its own licensing, and plans to ship the sample of film DSC in 2006. DSC is a mechanism, that the electron generated from dye that absorbs light flows to the electrode of the semiconductor particle such as titanium and the electric power is generated.
DSC is lower cost than it of silicon, and practical use is expected as the next generation solar battery.
DSC, that the Pecsel Co. developed, has formed the titanium oxide membrane to the PET substrate with the ITO transparent electrode, moreover, volatility organic system electrolytic solution was used in the electrolytic solution layer and the electro conductive plastic was used for the counter electrode. It is in lightness and is excellent in the bend and the profiling, it is put to practical use as portable power sources such as mobile phones and PDA at the moment.
