Budget Requests for Coming Fiscal Year of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry
About budget requests for the coming fiscal year of Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, Natural Resources and Fuel Department Mineral and Natural Resources Division decreased by 1.5% from the previous year to 9.97694 billion yen; Manufacturing Industries Bureau Nonferrous Metals Division increased by 5.0% to 5.57858 billion yen; Nanotechnology increased by 4,150.6% to 2.09 billion yen; Fine Ceramics increased by 5.3% to 3.73979 billion yen. As for Mineral and Natural Resources Division, the budget concerning Resource Development has been greatly increased, though the raw material problem is closed up in the industry. And Nonferrous Division newly demanded the investigation consignment expense for the structural material spread of aluminum. Mineral and Natural Resources Division increased the budget to 1.62259 billion yen for research of natural resources co-development, to 131.62 million yen for research of offshore mineral resources, and it demanded the budget for international commodity study group. On the other hand, it decreased the budget for Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation, for research and efficient use of domestic mineral resources, for stockpile of nonferrous metals, and for research cooperation promotion business.
As for Nonferrous Metals Division, it demanded the budget for investigation of industrial technological measures of reformative structure material, for manufacturing development project of high performance titanium, and for research of making ultrahigh-purity metal material industry. It showed the increase of 265.85 million yen as a total.
