FURUKAWA ELECTRIC Strengthens Heat Pipe Productivity in China
FURUKAWA ELECTRIC started the operation of the second productive line of micro heat pipes in Furukawa Electronics (Suzhou), the base of electronics businesses in Suzhou, China. The monthly productivity of micro heat pipes in the base will become 1.5 million units increasing by 3 times as many as the old monthly productivity; furthermore, the productive condition of 3 million units per month for micro heat pipes completed in the division of ELECTRONICS of the firm. In China, currently, there is brisk demand of personal computers, servers, and digital appliances, etc. Thanks to it, the demand of exoergic products is increasing dramatically.
Furukawa Electronics (Suzhou) started manufacturing thermal products from last September. At first, the firm started the operation of the productivity by 500,000 units per month in the first productive line.
FURUKAWA's monthly sales of thermal products (non-consolidated base) are about 800 million yen. In April-June, the firm increased revenue by 20% or more from the same period of the previous year. In the second half of this fiscal year, Asia Vital Components Co., Ltd., the related company in Taiwan which produces exoergic fans, etc., is also increasing production. So fiscal 2004 sales of FURUKAWA would be 10 billion yen or more.
