Totoku Electric's subsidiary in China starts to operate new mill
Totoku Electric announced on Tuesday that new mill of a subsidiary in China started to operate since last month. The firm will produce electronic materials as winding wire and flexible flat cable (FFC) and heater cable processed goods, and supply for South Eastern market and China. The firm aims sales of 1.6 billion yen in 2005 and will increase payroll number from 200 to 420.
The subsidiary was established in June 2003 as producing and selling base. Though the firm has produced some products yet at a tentative mill, it is formally producing and selling this time by completion of construction of new mill. Lot area of the mill is 50,000 square meters and total floor area is 14,000 square meters.
For the present, processed goods are produced in the mill, and the firm will invest for winding wire and wire fused to metal in this year. The firm plans to invest three times, in 2003-2004, 2004-2006 and 2007-2008. The firm hopes the mill to operate at full capacity in 2008.
