ATA Aims at Annual Production of 600,000 Tonnes
The head office of ATA is in Seoul, South Korea. The firm's current output is nearly 600,000 tonnes, but it has not yet reached 600,000-tonne-mark. Then, the sales amount is above the output because the firm has many exports to Southeast Asia, China, and Japan, etc. as well as much domestic supply. This is why the firm is now under construction of a heating furnace for slabs, which will be a pusher-typed one, for 13 million US dollars of the investment in Yongju Plant. Annual productivity will mark 600,000 tonnes, which is the firm's goal, in 2004 when the construction will be completed. Furthermore, there will be 5th pusher-typed heating furnace in the firm.

The firm invests the funds to the plant to heighten the rate of the hot rolling which the firm is good at and quality of surface of its products. In addition, the improvement of the productivity of cold rolling in both Ulsan and Yongju Plant is also expected thanks to heightened productivity of hot rolling in the firm.

The firm is also scheduled to introduce equipment for casting to Ulsan Plant because shortage of slabs in both plants. Additionally, it is important for the firm to invest in quality and service continuously.
