The foresight of the nonferrous industries in Korea
The rolled aluminum industries in Korea on 2000, Alcan, the world's biggest rolled aluminum maker, integrated two company. Alcan Taihan Aluminum, major rolled aluminum maker ATA, was born. The firm will share the condition of site near China, Asia's biggest market and aim the No1 rolled aluminum maker in Asia area.

ATA has the production capacity of the hot rolled at nearly 500,000 tones per year and the cold rolled at 400,000 tones per year. The firm will set up an one slab heating furnace on the end of the next year because the improvement of the surface quality and the buildup of the production capacity. Consequently, the firm become to have the production capacity at 600,000 tones per year.

The firm is exporting the half amount of the production for China, Japan, East Asia, US or Australia and so on.

The firm opened a connection office in Tokyo on the first of this year and set up a marketing person.
