Nippon Light Metal to Become Sure of its Increased Dividends for This Term
Mr. Sato, the president of Nippon Light Metal Company, Ltd., NLM, became sure of its increased dividends and improvement of income for this term, following its current good business results of each group company. Furthermore, he emphasized that the group's mid-term management planning ending March 2007 or fiscal 2006 went well; he plans to continue to strengthen the condition being able to pay the dividend of 5 yen.

NLM has prospect of 510 billion yen in fiscal 2003 ending March 2004, as the consolidated sales, 13 billion yen of the ordinary profit in the same term, and 9 billion yen of the net profit in the same term: In more details, thanks to reinforcement of control of exhaust gas, the demand for trucks increased; NIPPON FRUEHAUF COMPANY, LTD. was good for wing materials, etc; and Toyo Aluminium K.K. also had the business results of the highest level in the past thanks to the good demand for IT.

On the other hand, about construction material businesses, NLM's results are on the rise. The firm continues to perform the measures toward improvement of the income throughout tackling both manufacture and sales as one and selling CB merchandise as a high differential product from this October. Regarding its sales promotion, it will strengthen selling direct, and according to him, the share of construction material businesses will be up. In addition, Nikkeikin Aluminium Core Technology Company, Ltd., which was spun off into a separate company, also had monthly a little under 100 million yen of the ordinary profit; thanks to effects of its rationalization and further processing development, it made sure of conditions for profits.

Under the group's current good operational conditions, regarding the estimates of 590 billion yen of the consolidated sales, 32 billion yen of the operating profit, and 23 billion yen of the ordinary profit, in fiscal 2006, the year ending March 2007, which is the final year of the mid-term management planning, "To me, these estimates are not really high. Our mid-term planning has been good by and large so far," he said.
