Sumitomo Metals Restructures the Energy Engineering Unit
Sumitomo Metal Industries will integrate the energy engineering unit and the wholly owned subsidiary, Sumitomo Metal Plantec starting new firm with 25 billion yen of annual sales on October 1. The firm tries to improve the efficiency by combining the energy engineering unit, which covers liquid natural gas pipeline, maintenance and renewal of water supply system and natural gas related facilities including eco-station, and Sumitomo Metal Plantec, which constructs pipeline, in marketing, technology and construction. The firm strengthens the competitiveness with the new firm when the natural gas related business grows while the competition is getting tough.
